• Unplug … when you finish charging a device; UNPLUG your charger because you’ll eliminate “vampire” usage – where you use electricity but don’t get any benefit. For example, Page 21 in Consumers Energy’s webinar dated 2/25/2014 states you could save up to $70 per year by just allowing a computer and related equipment to go into “sleep mode”
• Plug-the-holes … studies have shown leaks in your facility can increase your heating and cooling costs occur because of leaks in your facility … ensuring you have a tight seal for your windows and doors (major components of your building envelope) might seem trivial but taking this one step will make a difference
• ONE-Degree … Setting your thermostat at 69 versus 70 during the heating season could save you up to 3% on your energy bills (source: Page 4 in 100 Ways to Save; you can also save by doing the opposite during the cooling season)
